Reimagine Me!

We've changed the date and the focus. Come join us June 11-13th at Africentric Early College. We will be focusing on how students want to learn. Reimagine your classroom when you teach the standards at high levels through different means such as discipline literacy, blended learning, and personalization. There will be science offerings as well as general sessions. Earn up to $100 stipend per day! Check with your principal to sign up.

What is Universal Design for Learning (UDL)?

Last month we talked about discipline literacy. This month, let's look at UDL. Are you employing it in your classroom?

The goal of UDL is to use a variety of teaching methods to remove any barriers to learning and give all students equal opportunities to succeed. It’s about building in flexibility that can be adjusted for every student’s strengths and needs.

By applying UDL principles, teachers can effectively instruct a diverse group of learners. They do this by building in flexibility in the ways learners can access information and in the ways students can demonstrate their knowledge.

Safety Matters

It is getting close to the end of the school year. Please submit your chemical inventory lists for each classroom with chemicals and your original lab safety check-off sheets signed by your principal. Please be sure to keep copies for yourself and file a copy of the chemical inventories with your main office. These need to be filed for the end of the year. Thank you for your help in this.
