Academy of the Arts at Bransom
April 30-May 4, 2018 (School Days 153-157)
A Note From Your Principal
Hello, Families and Friends of the Academy of the Art at Bransom. We are starting another great week. In fact, this week is just as important as the last couple of busy weeks but a little less hectic (or maybe not!)
A big Poetry Celebration took place last week for 2nd graders, our current kinders went to Casa Manana, and our new kindergartners registered for their big Kinder adventure next fall. We continued the schedule for reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle and we hope you are ready to finish up the book this week. See more details below.
Two words of appreciation in closing. First, I want to thank each of you who completed the BrightBytes Technology survey that was sent out to parents last week. Your input is vital for the district to make informed decisions about technology use in our school community. Also, let me say that I could not be more please with the progression of our transition into an fine arts school. We have begun making plans for next year and we are excited about some real additional possibilities. We are also hopeful that you and your family will be willing to broaden the scope of integration of the arts into your own family life. It is really good for the whole family. Thanks for your support!
Looking forward to seeing our students' worlds expand,
Mrs. Burchfield

SUMMER CAMP SUCCESS
It is our goal to help children feel comfortable on our stages as well as the big stages in their future lives. Without question, the performers we witnessed on stage will be seen again on the Kerr, STEAM, Centennial stages in the near future. Just wait and see!

Math Tip of the Week for Parents from Mrs. Blair
Research shows that parental involvement is extremely important to fostering positive attitudes and success in math. There are many different ways to support children’s math learning at home, such as practicing number operations. A few examples are below.
