Your participation will help to create community-based solutions and to connect residents to appropriate resources. The ongoing indicator tracking will allow us to see trends over time so that we can adjust our approach and activities. This project is led by Sustaining Way, American Heart Association, FAVOR, Phillis Wheatley Center, SC Thrive and SC DHEC. The survey opens Friday, April 9th and will remain open until April 25th.

CTC Student Newspaper: Latest Edition
Extra, Extra, Read All About It! The latest edition of the CTC Student Newspaper, our school's student newspaper, is out! (CLICK HERE!)
A student newspaper teaches and reinforces a lot of skills that will benefit students today and tomorrow. Students who participate in a student newspaper learn a lot of workplace skills such as management, meeting deadlines, and communicating with others. School newspapers also enforce a need for teamwork.
Safety First, Efficiency Second
- NO TEXTING while moving in the carline. Hands-Free only.
- Students are to Unload and Load all along the covered walkway. NOT in the visitor parking area or left lane. (Remember, our students have to walk to class, walk to lunch, walk to recess..... and they are capable of walking a few yards to get into the school.)
- Students should exit and enter cars from the passenger side right of the vehicle.
- The tardy bell rings and the instructional day begins at 7:45am.
ICYMI: In Case You Missed It
Finish Strong! #SterlingSchoolWeGotThis
Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break. As we find ourselves at the last 8 weeks of the 2020-2021 school year, we may find ourselves tired, unfocused, or complacent. You might feel tempted to check homework less frequently, allow your child to stay up later, or hold different expectations than you did in August or September. As a parent, I understand. We must resist these temptations and finish strong.
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, please know how much we appreciate you and your involvement! Remember to remain focused... read with and to your child, ensure they complete all homework, communicate with their teachers, and continue to be involved. If there is anything we can do to further support our home/school partnership, PLEASE do not hesitate to let us know! We are here to serve and partner with our Sterling School families. #BuildABetterGriffin #WholeChild

Faculty/Staff of the Month
As we return from Spring Break, we want to recognize our recently selected faculty and staff members of the month.
Congratulations to Nurse Heather Garrison who was selected as Staff Person of the Month. Since the start of her tenure in mid-September, Nurse Heather has been a welcomed addition to our school community. In this unprecedented time of COVID-19, Nurse Heather has provided confidence, poise, and nurture. Here are a few things our faculty/staff had to say about Nurse Heather. “Nurse Garrison is amazing! She knows everyone’s name and is so welcoming and cheerful. She takes time to follow up and keep everyone in the loop. We are lucky to have a nurse who is both very competent and kind during all this craziness.”
Coming in at a tie, Rosaruth Palmer and Dr. Shane Robertson were selected as Faculty Member(s) of the Month. Mrs. Palmer is a 4th grade teacher in our Sterling program and Dr. Robertson is our general music and chorus teacher. “Though Mrs. Palmer is a rock star teacher, she always seeks to find ways to improve her teaching. Her dedication to and love for her students is evident. She is joyful and approaches the daily stresses of pandemic teaching with positivity!” “Dr. Robertson never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face. He is such a bright light and positive person to be around! He goes above and beyond in relationally connecting with colleagues and coming up with fun, creative ways to make music happen.”
These three individuals provide our school with great examples of #GriffinPRIDE who work hard to meet the needs of the #WholeChild. Join us in celebrating this well-earned recognition! #SterlingSchoolWeGotThis #BuildingABetterGriffin
