Bobcat Broadcast

December 17, 2021

A Message from Mrs. Caudill

Warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year. May peace, love, and prosperity follow you always. Whatever is beautiful, whatever is meaningful, whatever brings you happiness. May it be yours this holiday season and throughout the coming year.

At Amerman, we are excited to begin a new year. This year our goal is to continue helping our students learn all of the important things they will need to be successful learners! We are passionate about learning and everyone at Amerman; classroom teachers, specials teachers, building aides, custodians, and office staff, want you to know that we are committed to providing your child/children a positive and fun place to learn.

As a reminder we want you to Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate this holiday break! We believe school breaks should be just that - a brief reprieve from school responsibilities like homework, special projects, planning, and grading. It is a time to reconnect with loved ones without the stress of school work creeping in. I will be leading by example and there will be no Bobcat Broadcast the next two weeks due to Winter Break. Please look for a new Broadcast on Friday, January 7. I hope each of you have a relaxing break full of family, fun and togetherness.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Warm Wishes,

Devon Caudill

It's Time to Teach Habit 3 - Put First Things First

We will be working on Habit 3: Put First Things First this month. Work first, Then Play!

What this means: Focus on what is important, schedule the important things first. Don’t be a dreamer - stay focused!

“I spend my time on things that are most important.”

“I say no to things I know I should not do.”

“I set priorities, make a schedule, and follow my plan.”

“I am disciplined and organized.”

How can I do this in my life?

1. Do your homework as soon as you come home from school.

2. Do something you have been putting off for a long time.

3. Think about your most important responsibilities. Do them first.

Great Books for Habit #3- Put First Things First

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

Pokey and the Spelling Test by Sean Covey

How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss

Whistle for Willie by Ezra Jack Keats

Froggy Gets Dressed by Jonathan London

During the Month of January we will be working on Habit 4: Think Win-Win this month. Everyone can Win!

What this means: Think about others as well as yourself. Long-term relationships require mutual respect and mutual benefit.

“I make deposits into others’ Emotional Bank Accounts.”

“When conflict arises, I look for third alternatives.”

“I balance courage for getting what I want, with

consideration for what others want.”

How can I do this in my life?

1. Live by the Golden Rule- Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.

Great Books for Habit #4- Think Win Win

Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes

Lilly’s Big Day by Kevin Henkes

Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse by Leo Lionni
