Eagle News March 6 - March 10
This Week at Utsalady
Friday 3-10 Wear Something in Honor of your Pet
Dear Utsalady Families,
This week we start Read Across Utsalady and the Utsalady Reading Challenge! During the month of March we celebrate reading and our love of books. Each week has a theme, a dress up day, and school-wide book bracket challenge. Next week the theme is pets and favorite type of pets. Students have a reading calendar and should read each night any book of their choosing.
Kids Heart Assembly
On Monday we have an all school assembly from the American Heart Association - Kids Heart Challenge. Students learn about healthy heart habits and mindfulness.
Parent Teacher Conferences (repeated information)
Teachers will reach out to families to schedule conferences on an as needed basis. We prioritize spring conferences for families that are new and came in after the fall conferences as well as those families we need a second meeting to discuss progress.

Help us honor a staff member
To show our appreciation for certificated and classified employees, we are proud to accept nominations for a Certificated or Classified Employee of the Month award September through March.
One certificated and one classified employee are selected monthly. All award recipients will be considered for the Certificated and Classified Employee of the Year awards presented in May. Nominations are welcome from parents, community members, peers, administrators, and students.
Please let us know about some of the great deeds our staff are doing! Share personal examples of the dedication, commitment and passion these individuals have portrayed working for the Stanwood-Camano School District.

Stay safe on the bus
To keep everyone safe on school buses and to abide by state law, please follow these guidelines while on a bus:
All items — such as sports equipment, instruments, and metal water bottles — must be completely secured inside of a closed bag or instrument case.
The bus is considered an extension of the school day, and students are expected to behave in a way that is consistent with school/classroom expectations.
There are no exceptions to these rules, per WAC 392-145-021 (Washington Administrative Code) and school board policy.
We appreciate your help in making sure that our students continue to stay safe on the bus and following state law so our school buses remain in service.
Please contact us with any questions.Help us plan for the future
The school district has launched a brief survey to gather as many voices, opinions, and thoughts from throughout the community that will help plan the district’s future. In addition to sparing a few moments to take the survey, please share the link widely throughout the community. The more responses, the better!
This district is asking the community to share feedback about the local school system that will help guide ongoing work and plan next steps. The survey should take about 10 minutes, and all results will be anonymous.
Again, please share the link with your friends and neighbors who may not receive communication from us.
