Crazy Hair Day!
Third Graders Meet Meteorologist Kelly Bates
Dear Families,
We had a lot of activities scheduled this week! Third Grade went on a field trip to the Richards Memorial Library AND met the very entertaining and intelligent Kelly Bates, ABC 6 Meteorologist. The Scholastic Book Fair was in full swing and Martin celebrated the end of North's district-wide food collection with a North Spirit Day coupled with Martin's Wacky Hair Day!
Our Pumpkin Stroll fundraiser concluded on Friday and made over $32,000 which will go toward field trips, educational programs, events, and Martin's Scholarship Fund. Pumpkin Stroll fundraising results can be found here. Thank you so much for your generosity and, most importantly, for your investment in your children. The work of a school "takes a village." Thank you for all that you do to help keep this village strong.
Next week, former New England Patriot, Malcolm Mitchell, is coming in to read and speak with 2nd grade students. We also have our MSA Skate Night! More exciting events are listed within the "Important Dates and Upcoming Events" section.
Please read below for other school news and a link to North Gear, and if you haven't yet, follow us on Twitter! @JWMartinSchool
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Evans

Recognizing Mr. Richard Leco
Last Thursday, Mr. Richard Leco was recognized for making a generous donation to the MSA so that Martin's children could enjoy enrichment opportunities. His philanthropy is done in honor of his late wife and former Third Grade Teacher at Martin, Mrs. Judy Leco. Mr. Leco shared wonderful stories about his wife and their work to help children cultivate a love of reading and to support people in need. Mrs. Victoria Curran is their daughter and is a Third Grade Teacher at Martin.
On behalf of the Martin Community, we thank you, Mr. Leco, for your kindness and admire your goodwill.
