The Lighthouse of Alexandria
The Lighthouse of Alexandria was built in 290 B.C by Sostratus of Cnidus. It was built in Alexandria, Egypt where it was named after.The structure was severely damaged by two earthquakes and is no longer exist. The lighthouse was used to fight against ships that invaded and it protected Egypt. It was considered an wonder because it was impressive in construction, size and legends claim that its light (a reflective mirror) was visible in the harbor from 35 miles away. There was three floors and the first floor was square, second floor was octagonal and the third floor was cylinder shaped.
