Elementary Newsletter for October 17th-20th

Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Fall break is here! Remember this week is a short week. We do have school Monday - Wednesday, this Wednesday is an early out day for all three campuses. The elementary lets out at 1:45pm. Please arrange your schedules to pick up your child.

Thank you to those of you who attended the Providence Hall Masquerade Ball this past Friday. We had food, fun, and music. The desserts were also wonderful. Thank you again to those of you who donated desserts and time to make this event possible.

Red Ribbon Week is October 25-28th. Our Student Body Officers are promoting a drug free school by celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Each day students are encouraged to support by wearing drug-free themed attire. Check it out below!

  • Monday - no school
  • Tuesday - YoLo Day! Be your own self. Students can wear dress down including hats.
  • Wednesday - Tie Day! Neck ties, bow ties, hair ties anything you can think of to not get "tied"up in drugs. Wear dress code.
  • Thursday - I'm a "jean"ious because I don't do drugs day. Students can wear jeans with dress code tops.
  • Friday - "Lei" off drugs day. The school will have lei's for the students to wear. If you've turned in box tops it is a dress down day as well.

Providence Hall's annual Halloween Parade takes place on October 31st. Please join us around 8:45am to line the streets as our hauntingly scary students walk to the high school and junior high to show off their costumes. Students will start parading at 9am so please be sure to have your spot. If the weather is poor we will make adjustments within our building. As for Halloween parties please contact your teachers for times.

As the weather is cooling remember to dress your children warmly. Students will be outside when the temperature is above 25 degrees. In addition, our lost and found is beginning to over flow. Ms. Patty will be taking items to the D.I. this Wednesday after school. If you are missing anything now is the time to find it.

Lastly, we have noticed several students wearing tights that are not in dress code to school. Please remember that tights can only be worn in the top colors only. In addition, please remember that leggings are not considered as pants unless they have pockets or zippers. If your child wears leggings without pockets and zippers they will need to be under a skirt. They should also only be in dress code colors. Lastly, grey is a color for tops and leggings, but not for pants. Please be aware and plan according.

Many thanks!
Jodi Lusty
