Successful Camp & More Off Season Opportunity
It was awesome to see so many familiar and new faces at tennis camp this past week! We got so lucky with the weather, and with a 104 campers this year we have hit a record high for tennis players!! We hope you got to learn a little bit, have a little fun, and gain that love for the game to keep you working at tennis all year long! Tennis is such a great sport that combines athleticism, mental strength, and strategic play to gain an advantage against your opponent...and the best part is you can play it for a large part of your life no matter how old you are!
I would like to offer and share some summer/fall opportunities with you to keep your game going. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me using the information section below that has a direct link to my email.
Ways to prepare for Beginners or Non-High School Players:
- Vetta West Clinics and Private Lessons
- You also have the clinics and privates offered at other local tennis clubs (Chesterfield Athletic Club, & Woodsmill/Frontenac).
- After all the clinics and lessons I also included looks for tennis gear, etc.
Ways to prepare for the 2020 Spring Tennis Season (High School Players):
- Gladiator Tennis, which is super flexible and you can play a lot of guys you'll see next season, as well as USTA Team Tournaments. You get an opponent once a week, and you set up the date/time you can play them! We already have some teammates signed up!
- USTA Tournaments and JTT Tennis
- I will have open courts 2-3 days a week. The tentative schedule is outlined below.
- You also have the clinics and privates offered at all the local tennis clubs (Vetta West, CAC, Woodsmill/Frontenac).
Please be doing something!!! Let me know if you need help selecting what options are best for you!!! All details for each off season activity are below in the newsletter :)

Open Courts TENTATIVE Schedule
Due to basketball camp, I could not make it work to do morning open courts, but Coach Howard will be there Thursday evening. The future time frames will be in the mornings before it gets too hot. Obviously, weather could change the time frame, but we will likely just go inside and work on conditioning, volleying, and maybe even play some basketball if the courts aren't available. So don't always expect cancellations due to weather :) I may add some days because we have 5 to give still so I will update that as we get more into the summer time (we can meet 20 times over the summer per MSHSAA Rules).
We will work on our CONDITIONING, FOOTWORK, and TENNIS SKILLS. I will always give time for PRACTICE MATCHES as well at least once during the week. We may invite some other schools and to have a little tournament kind of like we run the JV Tourney just to get some other competition in besides ourselves.
