Family is the first school for young children, and parents are powerful models.

Thursday Night is Curriculum Night!
Our curriculum night is this Thursday. We expect 100% parent attendance. The evening will begin at 6:30 with a brief meeting in the gymnasium. The first classroom session will begin at 7:00 and a second classroom session will begin at 7:30. This will allow parents with children in multiple grades to attend classroom sessions. This will be a time to learn more about our your child's education.
You may have heard about the Enterovirus. Check out information shared by our District to learn more.
Differentiated Engagement Block (DEB)
Two of our goals are to ensure that all students grow and all students make progress toward college and career readiness. Though our students are far from going to college or entering the workforce, their learning today provides a foundation that places them on a trajectory for future academic and social success. If academic and social gaps exist, we need to work in collaborative ways to help our children grow. We have a Differentiated Engagement Block (DEB) that provides students with enrichment, interventions, or gifted services during a forty-five minute block of time focused on literacy. We place students into DEB groups based on a triangulation of data that informs our placement decisions during DEB. Your child will begin DEB on Monday, September 22. We will send home DEB placement information in the week ahead to share additional information with parents.
Here is information about our preschool program.
Teacher Institute
While students have the day off on Friday, teachers will be in an institute where they will be learning cooperative learning structures. I am bringing a Kagan trainer in to teach us about ways to increase student engagement through cooperative learning structures. Kagan develops and shares revolutionary instructional strategies proven to boost engagement and achievement. Click here for more information about Kagan Structures.
