Connecting Tech Toys to Content

Grades K-6: Math, Science, Computer Science

Have you ever learned the latest and greatest tech application, tool, and/or device and wondered how to connect it to your content? Or maybe you have led a lesson with your new tech devices and realized you only taught the technology tool and not your content? This is a session that addresses these concerns plus much more. Participants will begin with content standards, including the new science standards, develop a plan, then work the technology (device, game, application) into the unit/lesson plan.

Session goals include:

  1. Conceptually understanding math & science content.
  2. Using a tech device as the main player in an engaging and authentic task.
  3. Bridging the gap between content standards and technology applications/tools.

Each participant will receive an "Ollie" as part of their registration fee to use during the session and to use for future classroom use. More information for this tech tool can be found by clicking here. This session will prove to be fun and adaptable to your needs as a classroom leader. No matter your technology comfort level, this is highly recommended!
