CATCH Updates:
March CATCH Activity….Discovering My Plate:
We are excited to tell you about a special program that our 2nd grade students got to experience on March 22 and 23. Students were able to hear a presentation from our food service department coordinator, Marguerite Valle, about the five food groups and eating healthy. Along with the presentation, students were able to taste different kinds of fruits and vegetables. Students were able to try heirloom tomatoes, kumquats, gooseberries and strawberries. This was a great way to learn how foods help our body and an opportunity to try something new that they might not have ever tried before. Thank you to the Food Service Department for everything you did to provide a great learning experience for our second graders.

STAAR Testing for 4th and 5th Grade Students: April 10th, 11th and 12th
KDE will be closed to campus and lunch visitors on Monday, April 9th through Thursday, April 12th due to alternate schedules and a testing environment. All students should come to school. Parents should plan on sending lunch to school with their child in the morning or having them buy a school lunch on theses days since we will not be permitting deliveries.
PTA Hosts Spring Carnival at KDE - April 13th
Field Day - Friday, April 20th
The schedule is as follows:
8:35 AM-10:05 AM Kindergarten and 1st Grade
10:15 AM-11:45 AM 4th and 5th Grades
12:45 PM-2:15 PM 2nd and 3rd Grades
Below is a list of starting areas for each class. This list is intended to help parents find their child at the beginning of their Field Day event. Parents will meet their child at the location indicated. Students will rotate with a buddy at their leisure; they do not have to stay in the area where they start. They should complete at least one activity before moving to a different location to give their parents a little time to locate them. There are 3 areas in which all activities will take place: gym, hardtop and field (area between playground equipment and portable buildings).

Arrival To School
We ask that students arrive to campus between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. Because there is no adult supervision before 8:00 a.m. students may not arrive before that time. The morning car rider drop off is one lane, please do not go around cars in front of you to drop off. If you need to come into the building during arrival please use the crosswalk where a staff member will stop traffic for you to safely cross with your child. Once you have dropped off your child please consider making a right hand turn as you exit the driveway to eliminate backup that is caused from cars having to wait to turn left. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work together to ensure the safety of our Dragons.
