Refer a Family to our Open House and have a chance to have your child's 2021-2022 re-enrollment fee waived! Estimated $250 value
A Note From The Principal
My hope is you and your family were able to enjoy a break from the routine and have a relaxing and refreshing Fall Break. Personally, the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly reinforced for myself and my family to take advantage and appreciate the everyday blessings that are bestowed upon all of us, which last week included never-ending piles of leaves for my daughter to jump into. We also appreciate the countless families that reached out to us in advance of Fall Break to discuss their plans to ensure not only their safety, but the safety of our entire school family.
Open House is next week! Please continue to share the great successes of St. Luke Catholic School. HERE is an article from the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) highlighting the important role our existing families play in promoting Catholic Education and our school specifically. We have close to sixty years of faith formation and academic excellence to be proud of - and having more families share in this educational model only makes our community stronger.
With cooler weather and morning darkness, please remember our carpool procedures: a) students exit the passenger side of the vehicle alongside the curb; b) parents need to stay within their vehicle; and c) students should be ready to exit the vehicle upon coming to a complete stop in the carpool line. These reminders will allow us to keep the carpool line moving each morning as we enter the winter months.
I am looking forward to meeting several of you at our Fall Principal's Coffee Chat this Friday morning. If we missed you this time around, be on the lookout for additional scheduled chats.
Thank you for your partnership as we "Build His Kingdom" here at St. Luke!
As Inspired by Cardinal Joseph Ritter...Work Hard. Pray Hard. Don't Worry.
Mr. Grismore

School Updates
Families with Students Entering Kindergarten in Fall of 2021 - Register today for our Open House Next Week!
Refer a Family - Ask them to Attend Our Open House - Have Your 2021 Re-enrollment Fee Waived!
This year, more than ever, we are asking for your partnership! There is NO greater marketing tool than our amazing parents telling others about how much you love our school!
If you refer a family and they register and attend our Open House, your name will go in a raffle with others who refer families and the winner will have their 2021 re-enrollment fee waived for one of their students! This year, the re-enrollment fee was $250. So just by talking about what an amazing school your children attend, encouraging a family or two to attend and asking them to write down your name on their registration form - you could "earn" $$$!
Sound easy? It is!
Any questions, please reach out to schoolcommunications@stluke.school or jschaefer@stluke.school and start telling everyone you know about our school today!
Nurse's Corner
Halloween and Dia de los Muertos will be celebrated this upcoming weekend. With our positive Covid-19 numbers on the rise in Indiana, I would like to offer some suggestions from the CDC on how to celebrate these holidays with the following low risk activities.
Carving or decorating pumpkins with members of your household and displaying them.
Carving or decorating pumpkins outside, at a safe distance, with neighbors or friends.
Decorating your house or living space.
Make a Halloween scavenger hunt where children are given a list of Halloween-themed things to look for while they walk outdoors.
Have a virtual Halloween costume contest.
Have a Halloween movie night with people you live with.
Have a scavenger hunt-style trick-or-treat search with your household members in or around your home rather than going house to house.
Decorate your home with images and objects to honor your deceased loved ones.
Prepare traditional family recipes with members of your household.
Play music in your home that your deceased loved ones enjoyed.
Make or decorate masks or make an altar for the deceased.
Visit and decorate graves of loved ones with household members only. Keeping 6 feet away from others in the area.
Picture Retake Day is Wednesday, November 11th
We Love Our Veterans!
Please view the star template HERE. We ask that you print the template, cut out the number of stars needed and inscribe each star with the name of a family member who is a veteran. When finished, please return the star(s) to the school office. The Student Council will display the stars in the Narthex to honor those who have served.
Due to our adjusted mass schedule this year in order to ensure proper social distancing, we will not be inviting family members to a Veteran's Day Mass this year. Teachers have been asked to consider possible alternative virtual means by which to involve veteran family members.
Thank you for helping us recognize these special individuals!
Catholic Charities' Christmas Store Needs Your Donations
For those who are new, every year St. Luke participates in Catholic Charities’ Christmas Store (we are one of their largest school donors). We are asked to donate new unwrapped toys, clothes, and home goods. The ladies at the Christmas Store then organize these donations into a “store” in which families who are selected through Social Services/The Crisis Center can come and shop for a nominal fee (about a dollar). Each child gets a toy and winter clothes. The family unit also gets to select a household gift (crockpots, towels, dishes, etc). The ladies that operate this charity do a fantastic job serving over 700 families. It is truly impressive!
HERE is the list for donations by grade and the collection period will run until Friday, November 13th.
The following is an excerpt of a letter from Nancy Hollinden for the Volunteers of the Christmas Store...
"Please remember the words of a former Christmas Store client: “I never in my whole life—ever—got anything for Christmas except from someone like you. You are doing a wonderful thing. It means so much to know that someone cares.” By providing new gifts for needy children and their families, you will be making a definite difference in their lives, letting them know that someone cares and they are not forgotten.
Please help us again this year to bring joy and hope to needy families at Christmas!
Our sincere thanks to you all!"
