A message from the principal
Greetings Wilson Families,
Our students have been working really hard and learning a lot this school year. This month we have our MCA (Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment) tests in reading and math for grades 3-5. Our 5th graders will also take an MCA science test.
3-5 Grade MCA Reading - April 18-20
3-5 Grade MCA Math - April 25-27
5th Grade MCA Science - May 4-5
This is our state assessment to see what our students have learned. We want to make sure our students are ready for the test. This includes getting enough sleep and eating well. Students can NOT have any technology, including cell phones and smart watches. We look forward to our students using everything they know to rock these state tests.
We are bringing back our Wilson Movie Night this year. On Friday, April 21 from 6:00-8:00 we will watch SUPER PETS. The event is free for all Wilson families. You can bring blankets and pillows. There will be popcorn and water for sale. We look forward to seeing everyone for a fun evening.
Sincerely,
Chris Forrest
May 11th - Celebration of Learning Night
Culture Share Opportunity
WHAT: Students are invited to participate in our Celebration of Learning Night by sharing about their culture with others. We will have tables in the hallway for students to set up displays that include information and items that relate to their culture or a country they are connected to.
WHEN: A gallery walk where families walk around and explore will take place from 5:30-6:30pm. Set up will be from 5:15-5:30.
Students will need to be accompanied by an adult that will stay at the display during the gallery walk. Students will get an interest form that can be filled out if they would like to participate.
We are so excited to learn from each other!
Music Share
WHAT: Recordings of class performances will be playing in the music room and a 3rd grade classroom. This will be a time where families can see some of what their students have been learning in music class.
WHEN: The videos will be playing from 5:30 - 6:30.
Art Share
WHAT: Students and families can create a positive message or symbol on a rock to add to Wilson’s rock garden. This will take place in the art room.
WHEN: Art will be created from 5:30-6:30.
