Exploration of the Louisiana Territory
Seeking able-bodied men, preferably soldiers. Must be able to carry and row a canoe, be able to hunt. Be able to communicate with Native American tribes if possible. Experience with horses also necessary. We will be departing St. Louis on May 14, 1804
We will be exploring the Louisiana Territory just bought from the French. We will hopefully find The Northwest passage, look for passes through the Rockies, go all the way to the Pacific Ocean, and set up relations with Native Americans. We will be cataloging new plant and animal species. It is estimated to take about two years.
You will get double military pay while on the expedition as well as 320 acres of land west of the Mississippi when surveyed land becomes available.
