8th Graders Visit J-Town for Pathway Workshops
After lunch, they were treated to a J-Town Update - Special Edition made just for them. This video bulletin gave them an overview of our school, highlighting programs, events and places they can look forward to when they attend Jordan next year.
Led by our amazing Student Ambassadors, five groups of 8th graders participated in rotations to all five Pathways. During each stop, the future Panthers received a brief overview of the Pathway and participated in an engaging activity.
The students could not stop talking about how excited they were to come to Jordan next year! They said things like, "People here are so nice!" "It seems like you guys really care about us." "There is so much to do here at Jordan!"
To cap off the day, a group of future panthers burst out in an impromptu chant of, "JORDAN, JORDAN, JORDAN ...." A great day was had by all!
Site Night in Uptown!
Jordan's Dance and the Latin American Student Society (LASS) teams performed in the Black Box Theater. Pathways gave families a taste of what their 8th grade student can look forward to next year. Parent groups like PTA and Boosters were selling food and Jordan gear.
It turned out to be a great night.
A special thanks to Megan Kerr for always supporting us ... even in the rain!
UPCOMING EVENTS!
SSI Help is Here!
Do you feel like teaching an SSI lesson is a stand-alone lesson that you possibly are not qualified to teach?
FEAR NO MORE!
If you would like one-on-one assistance with any portion of SSI (a brainstorming partner, co-planning, co-teaching, friendly feedback on a lesson, etc) just complete the short SSI Assistance Request Form. I will contact you that same day so we can set up a time that is convenient for you and work together. This is also great for a department or Pathway session!
Happy integrating!
