First Day of School

The new school year starts on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 and we are busy getting the final preparations into place. The gates open at 8:40 am each morning and school starts at 9:00 am.

Breakfast will be served in the gym starting at 8:40 am.

The end of the school day is 3:30 pm.

Meet the Teacher night is August 28th, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Come on in and drop off school supplies, meet the teacher, see the classroom, and have a BBQ provided by the PTO. Hope to see you here.

Kindergarten Information

The first four days of school Kindergarten teachers will have students come into school by appointment for WA-KIDS assessments. You should be receiving a letter with a specific time and day to come in. If you need further information, please call the office at 360 575 7581 or email our secretary Ruthanne at

The week of Sept. 5 -8 Kindergarten students will attend half days, either AM or PM.

And then starting on Sept. 11, Kindergarten students will attend for the full day.

Pick-up and Drop-off

Drop off and Pick up

  • School Starts at 9:00 am. Gates open at 8:40 am.

  • Morning drop-off gates are open from 8:40 AM – 9:00 AM.

  • Everyone dropping off students before school should be using the drive-thru gate area on the north end of campus.

  • Students arriving at school after 9:00 am need to check in at the office

  • End of the school day.
    • 3:30 pm on Mon., Tues., Thurs., & Fri.
    • 2:30 pm on Wed.

  • 3:15PM – 3:45PM ~ M T Th F
  • 2:15PM – 2:45PM ~ W


The back gate to the apartments will be open from 8:40 am to 9:00 am in the morning and from 3:30 pm to 3:45 pm in the afternoon.

All other walkers will exit campus near the main office. For everyone's safety, all students should use the sidewalk on 38th ave. when arriving and departing school. The crossing guards are there to help ensure everyone stays safe.

Great News! All students in the Longview School District, including Mint Valley Elementary, will have a free breakfast and lunch available to them for the next four years!
