A Note From the Teacher
I can tell this is going to be a great semester. We are off and running! I'm excited to see the growth from the beginning of the year. Start practicing addition and subtraction facts at home and time your child. They should try to beat their time. I will send a practice sheet home on Monday. Read, read, read! Fluency is an important part of reading. We will be working on becoming smoother readers and increasing our words per minute. I will send sheets home in the homework folders for your child to practice a passage several times and improve their speed and accuracy. Reading should start to sound like talking with proper inflections and pauses using punctuation marks. Thanks so much for all of your support! I'm sure the tooth fairy has been quite busy this week. One day, we had three different students loose a tooth!
