CofC's Irish and Irish American Studies

Historical Religious Tolerance of Charleston

Sunday, May 3rd, 7pm

98 Wentworth Street

Charleston, SC

A lecture by Irish and Irish American Studies' Stephen White, sponsored by the Christian-Jewish Council of Greater Charleston, an organization that seeks to build bridges of understanding to promote sensitivity, tolerance, respect and fellowship among all faith groups. The lecture will be in Hanahan Hall adjacent to the church.

The history of Charleston is rich with international settlers or pioneers from overseas, bringing their national cultures, religious beliefs and attitudes toward life and fellow man with them. This melting pot created a unique city and diverse culture with residents with new religious beliefs from those here originally. This glorious melting pot is Charleston
