Mr. Landis - Presenter at Virgina Tech

This past weekend, 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Matthew Landis, presented research at Virginia Tech’s 16th Annual “Innovative Perspectives in History” Conference in Blacksburg, Virginia. His paper, “False Patriots: American Mercenaries and the Fight for Independence,” examines how, for many Americans, the Revolutionary War was a vehicle for fame, wealth, and personal security rather than independence. His paper highlights notions of loyalty, honor, and survival in eighteenth-century America. Congratulations, Mr. Landis! We are so proud of you for having been selected for this honor. Thank you for all you do to model learning and inspire passion for learning.
