French 7 Project
Students in Mme Pons' French 7 class are exhibiting their "French-speaking Cities around the World" project. Students chose one French-speaking city in the world, described it with fun facts and an object symbolizing the city. Each city is linked to a location on the map and visiting the exhibit is a trip through the French speaking world!
MYAC at Gillette Stadium
Students in MYAC (Milton Youth Advocates for Change) recently attended the Norfolk DA's Peer Leadership Conference at Gillette Stadium to learn more about how youth in the county can address substance use and mental health amongst youth. Thanks to our students who attended and continue to work on these important issues!
Student Movie Review Published
Congratulations to sophomore Anna Alvarova, whose review of 'Next Goal Wins' was published on the Headliner's in Education news site. Anna took advantage of free press passes to the movie, made possible by Headliner's in Education, with the promise of writing a review. You can read her excellent review here!
Elephant in the Room
MHS student journalists from the Elephant in the Room, the student newspaper at MHS, applied to cover Vice President Kamala Harris' recent visit to Boston. Not only were our students cleared and given press access, they were at the day's first event, working in the same room as the VP as she spoke, just 50 feet away! Thank you to Advisor Michael Young for helping to facilitate this opportunity.
MHS Echo
Thanks to our students who run the ECHO, MHS's art and literature magazine. They focus on showcasing the amazing writing and art of MHS students and encourage people to share their talent. Check out their amazing art, stories and poems here! Enjoy!
Spread Holiday Cheer with MHS Music
Planning an event this holiday season? Add some festive cheer to the celebration with a performance by some MHS musicians! Choral and instrumental small ensembles are available throughout the month of December. Please contact Julia Hanna (jhanna@miltonps.org) or Rebecca Damiani (rdamiani@miltonps.org) to inquire about scheduling. Students are eager to volunteer at community events and are also seeking donations for their upcoming trip to Philadelphia.
You can also support them by purchasing from their Fruit Sale and Fair Trade holiday fundraisers through December 10th, as well as by attending the MHS Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 5th at 6:30 in the MHS Auditorium.
One Stop Shopping December 2 at Steel and Rye with Milton Boosters and PTOs!
At MHS Info Night, Principal Karen Cahill and Vice Principals Ngoc Tran and Brian Mackinaw will share what makes MHS so special. We are proud of our many and varied extra curriculars - students are able to participate in close to sixty clubs, many concerts, plays, and musical performances, as well as over two dozen Freshman, JV, and Varsity Athletic teams.
Academic excellence is an ongoing priority at Milton High School. Our Program of Studies linked here includes classes for all learners at the College Prep, Honors, and Advanced Placement levels.
At MHS Information Night, students and families will take tours of our campus, meet student leaders and hear from Curriculum Coordinators.
MHS Donation Drives
The Long Pass - Soccer Uniform Donation Drive
Drop off your used soccer uniforms (and equipment) in collection bins located in the lobbies of Collicot/Cunningham, Glover, Tucker and Pierce schools or at 34 Cliff road. Any donations of CLEAN T-Shirts, shorts, socks, shin guards, cleats, and deflated balls and pumps will be gratefully accepted and donated to children around the world. Uniforms from other sports will be accepted and the collection ends on Dec 8. Thank you for your support! For more information, call Madame Brown @ 617-696-8125. This project is supported by the Milton Public schools and Milton Soccer.
Food Service - New Lunch Option!
There is a new lunch option coming to the MHS lunch menu this month - Chipotle Chicken Fajita Bowl on 12/20. Enjoy a bed of brown rice topped with chipotle chicken, seasoned peppers and onions, black beans and shredded mozzarella cheese. Give it a try!
Check out the full December Lunch Menu here.
MHS Club Fees
We encourage all of our students to be active members of our MHS community. One of the ways to do this is to be involved in a club or sport at MHS. This is just a sampling of some of the things we have to offer. You can always refer to our Daily Bulletin for meeting times and locations for any clubs at MHS!
Now that our clubs are up and running club fees are now due. Please use our online payment system Unibank linked here (or on the MPS homepage) to pay all club fees. The cost is $25 per club with a cap of $50 per student per year. Thank you for your prompt payment of club fees.
