Mission Statement

Our ECHS Owls are taught to have H.O.P.E.--faith in the premise that they can create OPPORTUNITY and a better future through EFFORT, HARD WORK, and PERSONAL COURAGE. This idea of H.O.P.E. is woven into the fabric of our ECHS family.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Greetings ECHS School Community,

We were pleased to welcome our teachers back to campus on Tuesday, September 8th. As an ECHS campus staff, we framed our work and engaged in safety training that day. In addition, time was used for classroom preparation, spent planning for the students who will be returning to campus, as well as our OWLS who will continue engaging with their classes virtually.

On Tuesday, September 15th, we are looking forward to welcoming our students (whose parents have elected for them to return) on the ECHS campus. Within this OWL Update, numerous important campus reminders are provided that highlight the RRISD Student Handbook, RRISD Code of Conduct, RRISD Student Dress Code and ECHS Virtual Learning Expectations. All our students, parents and staff are asked to please take time to review. Whether virtual or on campus, the shared expectation will be that all our ECHS students will consistently abide by the contents of the aforementioned documents.

Next Thursday, September 17th, an ECHS Virtual Academic Night has been scheduled to take place from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. For your reference, included below are the Zoom Webinar Link and Meeting Links, along with an overview of this time together. Please know, during the Webinar and Grade level Team presentations, although questions will not be answered live, a link will be shared for questions to be posed and answered at a later date. In addition, given there may be scheduling conflicts, these sessions will be recorded.

District Reminders:

VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIRS

Fall college fairs are here. Now, being held virtually, college fairs allow students to pursue college opportunities safely and in a significant way.

College fairs offer students and their families vital information about college admission, financial aid, campus life, and how to select the best-fit college. This year’s virtual college fairs mean students and families can conveniently explore hundreds of higher education options, including visiting booths and having live one-on-one interactions with recruiters from colleges, universities, technical schools, and military branches from the comfort of their home.

Round Rock ISD students and parents/guardians are encouraged to register and participate in the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (TACRAO) and National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) virtual college fairs

Upcoming Virtual College Fairs. Fair registration and participation is free.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opens on Thursday, Oct. 1. When a student files the FAFSA, they may become eligible for scholarships or grants (based on need and merit), work-study programs or low-interest loans. For students to increase their chances of receiving the best financial aid packages for which they are eligible, counseling services recommend that every graduating senior fill out their FAFSA before Dec. 31.

For more information on preparing for higher education opportunities, please visit with your school counselor.

For your reference, once again, this is the RRISD Reimagining Education (On campus and Virtual Learning Plans) - Parent Overview

Please continue to visit the Round Rock ISD Food Services and COVID-19 School Closure webpages for the latest information and updates. We will also provide information on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
