Coming Up at RE:

May 12th- Lee Harper Visit & Presentation

May 20th- Field Day

May 24th- Half Day & LAST Day of school

Turpin NEEDS your help!

Even though we are beginning to wrap up this year.... It is time for me to start looking forward to the beginning of next year and the start of school. Long before the actual first day of school, teachers come back to the building in full force to prep and prepare for that first day! In some of those coming days, I will be working with staff doing some professional development and team building. I would love for one of my activities to be a staff slide show with YOUR kiddos doing a short 30 second or 1 minute video, thanking the staff or saying what they love about Riverview.

Please email me your videos to mturpin@usd232.org

Thank you in advance for helping me with my project!

Mrs. Turpin

Check those lunch accounts.....

It is that time of year again, where we are wrapping up the year....which means it is time to double check your students lunch balance and settle up with any negative balances. If you do decide to leave a positive balance, that will be carried over to the next year!

Thanks in advance for you doing your part!

Field Day is on the WAY!

Field Day is Friday, May 20th! Plans are being finalized and we are doing the “stay-away-rain” dance around here! We are asking that students bring in snacks for our snack stations. Please send your student(s) with the following snacks to school this week or next:

Students with last names starting with A-M, please bring in a box of fruit snacks.

Students with last names starting with N-Z, please bring in a box of granola bars.

*Please remember we are a nut-free school. If your student needs a special snack, please be sure to send them with their own snack the day of Field Day*

There will be tubs in the entryway of the school that students may put their snacks in when they arrive to school. We will accept snacks until Thursday, May 19th. Thank you for helping with Field Day in this way!

A Note from the Girl Scout Troop

Help the Girl Scouts help others in need by donating a book! We are collecting books because our Girl Scout library at camp Tongawood could use a refresh, and the books we don’t use will be donated to a program called “Lead to Read”. Please have your kid place their book in their grade level bin behind the activity area in the 4th and 3rd grade hall. Also, the grade with the most book donations gets an extra recess!!

Changes in the Lunchroom

Now that masks are optional and COVID cases are low, we are adjusting and making some changes within the building. One of those areas that will see changes after spring break will be in our lunchroom. We will adjust the seating arrangement, and we will now start having visitors at lunch. We have not been able to have this for two years, so many of you have never experienced lunch at Riverview. Here are a few items to note:

  • Please use the sign-up below if you would like to come and have lunch with your child. This follows board policy of making sure our visitors are pre-planned.
  • Students and their guest will have special seating separate from other students.
  • You may purchase an adult lunch at school. If you would like to do this, the cost is $4.35, and it is helpful if we know this in advance.
  • You may choose to bring food from a favorite restaurant to enjoy with your child.

*PLEASE make sure to pay close attention to the lunch times listed below, as we do try and to keep things moving and on schedule here at RE. This really helps with the lunch process and the disruption of learning.....I know those pesky drive through lines have a mad rush during the lunch hours. Please try to keep that in mind and plan ahead when possible!

Early Pickup

As we all return back to some activities post COVID, we are starting to change some things up with early pickup. If at any point during the school day you are needing to pick up your student, we now ask that you park and come into the front office to pick up your student. This way you can sign your student out and meet them in the front office to checkout.

Thank you in advance for helping us with this small change! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the front office.

Big picture

Peanut FREE School.....Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that we are a peanut FREE school here at Riverview. With birthday celebrations and school parties, I thought I would attach our peanut free approved foods list. Thank you again for helping keep all the kiddos here at RE safe and healthy!
