Escape into the Library: Feb 8
Come and learn about escape experiences: from tabletop, to BreakoutEdu to whole rooms. Learn more about their use to support library programs and educational curriculum and go through an example escape experience to build a frame of reference and familiarity. Lastly, begin to explore ways you can leverage these engaging resources, gaining direction and guidance in beginning to develop escape experiences and integrating them in your library.

Walk in My Shoes: Poverty Simulation (for School and Public Libraries): March 8

The Poverty Simulation is a powerful exercise designed to help community leaders increase their understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced by those living in poverty and how current biases, systems, policies, and practices create barriers. How does it work? The poverty simulation is a highly interactive immersion experience that facilitates awareness of what a typical low-income family experiences in their attempt to survive from month to month. Each participant assumes the role of family members living in poverty for one month. For more information, go to www.ccsi.org. Registration starts at 8:30 am, coffee and refreshments will be served. This workshop is open to school librarians and library staff.

Elementary Robotics for ELA & Social Studies: March 8

Have you ever thought to use robotics in your classroom? Why not? During this face-to-face workshop, we will explore the numerous robotics elementary educators can utilize to bring STEAM into the classroom. We will provide mobile devices as well as Robotic. Educators will have access to an online resource with instructions and lesson plans for integrating into the classroom.
Creating and Managing Your Digital Identity: March 14
During this class, we will discuss the importance of taking control over your digital identity through various social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more. By learning a few simple principles, you will gain the skills necessary to create and maintain a professional and personable digital identity.
