Parents- Did you know you can get set up as an "Observer" on your child's Canvas account?

The main use of the observer role is to link a user to a student. Observers cannot submit work on behalf of the students they observe, but they can see student grades, assignments and events, and course interactions.

1. Go to https://isd709.instructure.com

2. Click Need a Canvas Account? Click Here, It's Free!

3. Click the Parents Sign Up Here link.

4. Fill in your information.

5. Under Student Pairing Code, enter XXXXXX

  • Ask the student you want to observe to log into their account and generate a pairing code.
  • Code expires after 7 days or one use.

6. Click the Start Participating button, you should now be paired as an observer.

7. Click the Canvas Observer Visibility & Participation Lists for more information.

Note: You can link to multiple students as an observer, as long as you use a unique pairing code for each student.
