Loving Every Minute of Learning!
Dodson’s Dish
Recently, one of our students shared how much she misses her sister at school. While she was crying, another student looked at her and said, “Come on! You have to Power Through. I know you miss her, but you need to be happy that you are at school and Power Through this. It is ok!” How sweet! First, I love that this young second grader had the kindness in his heart to stop and tell another student that it is going to be ok. Second, the fact that he used our motto for the year...Power Through is proof that the term is so powerful.
On many occasions, I can walk through the school or any classroom and witness students struggling. I love that our teachers remind students that it is alright to struggle, but they have to Power Through and complete the task. Powering through can look different in so many ways. Some students may be struggling on a math problem, other students may be struggling with working in collaborative groups, or one may even be struggling learning how to play a new beat on the drums. Regardless of what we are all learning it is important to remember this quote- Learning isn’t easy...Embrace struggle and and grow!
Mindset- Have you read to Chapter 3, yet? If not, start reading. We will have another Twitter Chat on 12-13 @ 8 pm. You do not want to be the one that misses the chat.
Kindly,
Serita Dodson
