Face Shield Donations
When the going gets tough, the tough make PPE! Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated staff members, HSI was able to donate over 80 face shields to Commander Eric Gordon from Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services! Thank you, Commander Gordon, for all that you and our first responders do to help keep our community safe and healthy. We appreciate your service! We hope these face shields help in keeping y'all safe.
A huge thank you to Mr. Salvador Sanchez for utilizing our campus 3-D printers to produce such colorful shields, and to Coach Megan D'Andrea and Assistant Principal Jessica Gomez for assembling the shields!
Each grade level has been assigned a day to return their Chromebooks and any library books.
Families with siblings may turn in all HSI issued materials on one day.
Parents may drop work packets off at school from 11:00-1:00 beginning 5/18 and the last day to accept work is 5/20. The only paper-based item we will collect will be the completed packets due to an "Incomplete" grade. No need to come to campus multiple times.
Families may turn in packets and technology for multiple students on the same day.
2nd & 3rd Grade: Tuesday, May 19th from 11:00-1:00
4th & 5th Grade: Wednesday, May 20th from 11:00-1:00
Last Chance: Thursday, May 21st from 2:00-5:00

HPS Distance Learning Grading Policy
Hello Oso Families,
Our teachers, staff, and administrators are committed to supporting you and your family during this challenging transition of distance learning. Please join your teachers' ClassDojo if you have not done so already. This will help you stay up to date with your children’s academic success opportunities during this time. Teachers are available to support you through Google Classroom, Dojo, and email.
Starting Monday, April 13th we will begin providing grades for your student's completed work. Assignments, grades, and feedback can be seen in Google Classroom and then entered into Skyward. For progress reports and report cards you will see letter grades instead of numerical grades.
-For example:
E=Exemplary, S=Satisfactory, N=Needs Improvement, or I=Incomplete for assignments.
-For progress reports and report cards for the 4th quarter, you will see:
P=Pass, F=Fail, or I=Incomplete.
Please make sure your student is logging in to their google classroom at least once a day to check for work assigned from each of the teachers and to turn in completed work. While online learning is best for your student as it allows interaction with their teachers and classmates, we encourage you to reach out to your teacher(s) if you need an alternative means of gaining assignments. We are committed to helping all families.
Parents, please partner with us as we learn together during this time. It is vital that students work remotely to attain credit issued by the State of Texas and Harmony for the remainder of the school year. Please let us know how we can help.
Our continued priority is for your child's health and education even during remote learning. Please connect with us on Facebook, ClassDojo, our website, and with our weekly Oso Outreaches for updates.
Please stay safe and healthy. We hope to see you all soon!
