From the Principal
Harrison Husky Families-
Happy 100 Days of School!
The month of January passed by in a blur of busy days spent together learning, growing, and celebrating our Huskies. We continue to appreciate all of our Harrison families for their support of our learners. Thank you for your partnership in keeping DHE a safe, healthy and happy place for our children!
In addition to reminders, this newsletter contains pictures and captions from our CELEBRATION of the January Husky PRIDE honorees. Please take time to scroll through all of the pictures and read about the positive, respectful, dependable Huskies who choose integrity and give their best effort! These behaviors set a wonderful example to all of our Husky learners and make DHE the place to be!
We are expecting some cold weather in the upcoming days. Please make sure your children come to school with their legs and feet covered and wearing their warm coats. While there will be no outdoor recess when the temperature and/or wind chill is equal to or below 29 degrees, students need to be warm walking to the bus or their cars in carline. Also, during our fourth wave of car line, students may be outside for a very brief period of time to watch for their car. As a reminder, dismissal is at 3:05, but our students who have not been picked up on time WILL be brought into the office to wait for their rides.
Finally, THANK YOU so much for your continued caution and communication regarding potential COVID symptoms. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Nurse Christina if you have questions or concerns. Together, we have reached 100 Days of School and are looking forward to our time together for the remainder of this school year! We count every minute together at DHE as incredibly precious!
All the Best,
Ms. DeWitt

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL Reminders:
ARRIVAL:
We are happy to welcome students into the building starting at 7:50 AM. Every learning minute counts! Please ensure your students arrive with enough time to walk into the building, pick up breakfast and walk to their classrooms, ready to learn by 8:05 AM.
Reminder: please exit all car riders from the passenger (sidewalk) side. If this does not work for your situation:
1. park in the lot and use the crosswalk or
2. wait for a staff member to come to assist
DISMISSAL:
Per SPS guidelines to ensure we keep our cohorts separated, students are dismissed from classrooms. This does slow down the dismissal process a bit. Thank you for your continued patience when picking up your children after school. Our DHE staff is teaming to make the dismissal as efficient as possible while keeping all of our Huskies safe! Your students are eager to see you at the end of the school day! Please be ready to pick students up no later than 3:05 PM.
PAWS-itives!
