Animation 2D & 3D
2D- exists in two dimensions; has a flat look.
3D- exists in three dimensions; has depth and a more realistic appearance.
Flip of Frame Based Animation
or flick book is a book with a series of pictures that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change.
Vector Animation- the movement is defined by computer generated formulas to create paths of movement; also known as path animation
SWF
file format viewed by Adobe Flash Player; the dominant format for displaying "animated" vector graphics on the Web.
MOV
file format developed by Apple for the QuickTime video player; best used for streaming.
AVI
file format developed by Microsoft for the Window Media video player; not good for streaming.
Animated GIF- a bitmap format often used on the World Wide Web, created by joining together a series of individual frames; used for small animations and low-resolution film clips, supports frame-based animation.
FLV & FLA
-Flash Video is a container file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player version 6 and newer.
