Computer Hardware
INFO ON COMPUTER TECH. READ ON FOR USEFUL INFO!
What is this flyer about?
In this flyer I will be talking about computer hardware and the key things inside the computer and what there main function is and why they are there. There will be pictures to show what each item looks like! So read on for a detailed flyer about computer hardware!
What is a hard-drive (HDD/SSD)?
A hard drive is what stores all your data. It is a disk drive used to read from and write to a hard disk. It reads all data. It records all your data and is stored in gigabytes! Hard disks store more data than floppy disks. In personal computers the HDD is the mechanism that controls the postioning, reading and writing of the hard disk which stores the largest amount of data storage in your PC. An SSD is much more better than an ram as it has no moving parts and won't get damaged easily.
TOUCH SCREENS ARE THE LATEST TECH NOWADAYS!
Touch screens are everywhere nowadays. They are on most phones, printers, computers (some), apple family. Read below to find out why people are generating a lot of touch screens. Is it easier to use?

TECHNOLGY IS GETTING MORE ADVANCED BY THE MINUTE!
IPHONE 5C
THE LATEST IPHONE 5C! TOUCH SCREEN EASY!
IPHONES
GADGETS ARE BECOMING MORE ADVANCED EVERY YEAR AS APPLE KEEPS MAKING IPHONES EVERY YEAR THAT ARE SLIMMER, FASTER, EASIER THAN THE LAST ONE!
Touch Screens are easier to use!
People claim that touch screens are easier to use than keyboards and mouses and it really is true. A touch screen is a display device which allows the user to interact with a computer by touching areas with the screen. And as techonolgy is advancing every year the ipad and Window 8 are both touch screen so its easier to use. Also, phones are touch screens aswell so its much better and easier to use and type messges then old phones like nokia's as they have too many buttons. But, as touch screens are advancing it also eats all your battery away. An iphone can eat all your battery and it lasts for 4-5 hours whereas an nokia for example lasts for 3-4 days- the battery and an Nokia is mainly used for calling people not texting whereas an iphone is used mainly for texting and calling and Facetime and playing games and surfing the web and much more!

This shows what is in a hard drive and what it looks like inside and describes it aswell in the simplest way.
Windows 8 Touch Screen
People are finding more ways to make life easier for us and there is the new windows 8 that is touch screen and more easier to access things and input things.
Monitors for macs and laptops.
Monitors are a way to observe things and it is something that you commuincate as you use keyboards and mouses. As they are input devices aswell!
Monitors are cool!
Monitors is a device for observing things and it accepts video signals from a computer. It displays information on screen for a person to use. It is easy to locate things and is where you can access information easily. We use it in our everyday life as people use monitors in school, work, home, libary. It is connected to the computer and motherboard so we can see what we type and we can look at things in the monitor, like watch videos, type emails and search the world wide web and much more. It is VERY useful!
Optical Drive is more cooler than monitors!
Optical means seeing for humans so in computer optical drive is referring to lasers that can see and read data on optical disks! That is way much cooler than monitors, they can see the disk and input the laser into the computer monitor for us to see!
Optical Drive
This is what a optical drive looks like and all computers have this. Some computers have the drive at the side wher others it is connected to an input device.
Diagram of Optical Drive
This is an diagram of the optical drive and how it processes and see things and then gets transferred to our computer for us to watch!
CPU
Stands for "Central Processing Unit". It is the brain of the computer. Read on to find out more!
CPU is the brains!
The CPU of an computer is really the main part of the computer. It processes everything from easy, simple instructions to difficult functions. CPU stands for central processing unit. Now not all computational systems rely on a CPU but most do. On large machines the CPU requires 1 or more printed circuit boards. On personal computers and small workstations, the CPU is housed in a single chip called a microprocessor. Modern CPUs are a small and square and contain multiple metallic connectors or pins on the underside. The CPU is inserted directly into the CPU socket, pin side down on the motherboard. See picture above for a modern CPU.
RAM is random!
Stands for "random access memory". It is made up of small memory ships that form a memory module. These modules are installed in the motherboards! A random access memory allows people to have access to stored data in a random order/way.
RAM
RAM is the most common type of memory that can be found in devices such as computers and printers. There are 2 types of DRAM- dynamic random access memory. And SRAM- static random access memory. Read on to find out more information of DRAM and SRAM.
Diagram of a motherboard
The motherboard is a printed circuit board. Inside your computer it is the biggest piece of silcon attached to it is the CPU, RAM, ROM, PCI, USB and other computer hardware componets.
A picture of an motherboard
This is what an motherboard looks like when its in the computer! It's a big circuit board that is stored in the computer.
Motherboards are the mother of the computer! They the most important out of the computer.
The motherboard is the main circuit board of your computer and is known as the main board or logic board. If you ever open up your computer you'll see this big piece of silicon, that is the motherboard! So, the motherboard is what makes everything in your computer work properly. Each motherboard has a collection of different sized chips and controllers known as the chipset. When new motherboards are developed they often use new chipsets. This means the new motherboards are more faster and easier. The bad thing is that the old components don't work with the new motherboards.
WHO EVER INVENTED INPUT/OUTPUT DEVICES ARE CLEVER!
Input means something that you put into the computer so for example-keyboard and mouse. They are both connected to the computer through usb cables that go into the computer. So, that means output devices are things that give us information from the computer so for example-printer, monitors. They both give information out. Monitors explained above are where information is displayed on the screen and printers print work out that display more information.
HP ENVY 110- A OUTPUT DEVICE
This is an example of an output device. It is a printer and it displays information on the touch screen of the small monitor in the middle. The monitor shows ways you can print your work out easily such as through email, web, USB and computer. Furthermore, more information is displayed by when it prints out the work, it gives the information out.
LATEST PRINTER
This is the latest printer called "hp envy 110!" You can print work out of the web, USB, Facebook, photos on printer, email and much more. It is run by a touch screen which is very easy to use and anyone can use.
