Community Service Reminder
Hi PRE families, I just wanted to remind you to document all the wonderful community service your child is doing so we can celebrate them at the end of the year. I will recognize ALL students that complete community service hours from April 1, 2022 - March 31, 2023, but if your child is trying to earn the President's Volunteer Service award the guidelines for elementary students are: Bronze - 26-49 hours, Silver - 50-74 hours, and Gold - 75+ hours. Please see the tracking form below.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for your service.

Career Awareness Day
We are excited to have our annual PRE Career Awareness Day! This will be the morning of February 15, 2023. I am asking any parents or community members to submit a video telling about their career. Please aim for a 5-8 minute video. The easiest way to submit the video is through a YouTube link. Please know that we will appreciate any video footage where the career is highlighted…it does not need to be a professional video!
During your video presentation, there are some points that I hope you can address. They are:
- Your relationship to PRE—parent, former parent, community member, etc.
- Training or schooling needed to do your job
- Subjects that you should have an interest in and are good at in order to do your job
- Any tools that you use on a daily basis, and please highlight these in your video if you can!
- What a day on the job might look like
- Showing the environment in which you work
Teachers will be able to work with their class to decide which videos to watch during the morning of February 15. We would also like to have a Zoom session for students to ask specific questions on this day. If you are interested in participating in this portion, please note it on the form below.
I am asking that all videos are submitted by February 10. You can email your video to: kfulcher@usd232.org . If you have submitted a video in the past, we have kept those videos to use on this day and will add new videos to this collection.
Thank you for considering being part of the PRE Career Awareness Day!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place February 15th-16th, 2023. Conferences are in person. If you are unable to attend your student's conference in person, please contact their classroom teacher via email. Sign ups will close 48 hours before conferences start to minimize last minute changes for the teacher. Contact the school office if you have any questions 913-667-1800.
The following link is for conference sign-ups: Spring Conference Signups
If you have questions, please reach out. We look forward to discussing your child’s progress with you.
Kindergarten Round-up
Kindest Kansas Citian
Every year students have the opportunity to participate in the Kindest Kansas Citian contest. Student participation is optional. It is a one-page drawing with a sentence (K-2) or essay (3-5) demonstrating the positive impact the nominee has made on the student’s life, written by the student. Contest judges are looking to identify kind acts that come from the heart. The contest guidelines are:
- The nominee can not be a family member
- The nominee must live in the Kansas City area
- The nominee must be an adult (18+)
- The nominee must have a relationship with the student (no local celebrities, unless they are a family friend)
The entries must be submitted online through the link below, and needs to be done at home due to information needed, such as parent phone number, email address, and nominee’s full name. The submission will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian or the student. The contest’s due date is Friday, February 17th. :https://kindestkansascitian.org/public-essay-submission?teacher_id=604
