Parent Input Forms for Placement Now Available- Due Tomorrow!

This month we are beginning to create class rosters for the 2018-2019 school year. I can't believe it's that time already!

Here at WCH, we utilize a variety of information from teachers, administrators and parents to build successful learning environments for all of our students. A successful placement process involves maintaining a balance among classes in terms of gender, academic ability, disciplinary and social needs, learning styles, and individual needs of the students.

We strive to place each child in a learning environment that will maximize their opportunities for success. If you have information you would like considered in your child’s placement, you may complete and submit THIS FORM no later than April 25, 2018. Staffing assignments for next year have not yet been finalized so will not be able to honor requests for a specific teacher, however we will do our best to honor your feedback.

Information submitted via email or through other means will not be considered. All information shared is confidential and submitted electronically to principal, Amanda Prehn.

We appreciate your feedback!

If you'd love to visit with friends while working on something fun, sign up! Thanks for your help!

STAAR Test Schedule for May @ WCHE

On May 14th our 3rd and 4th graders will be taking their STAAR math test, and 5th graders will have an opportunity to retest in math.

May 15th is the day our 3rd and 4th graders will be sitting for their STAAR reading test, and 5th graders have an opportunity to retest in reading.

On May 16, our 5th graders take their STAAR science test.

While students are taking their STAAR tests, visitors and volunteers are unable to be on our campus. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Tiger 2nd Graders Raise Almost $900 for Thundering Paws!

We are very proud of our second grade Tigers! At this year's Economics Fair, students created their own merchandise, marketed and sold their products to their peers. This was a great example of authentic, student-centered learning! By selling goods and services at a rate of $0.25 each, they raised almost $900! Way to go, Tigers!

The students decided to donate the proceeds of their Economics Fair to Thundering Paws and invited Ms. Anne Zabolio to receive the donation in person.

Congratulations, Tigers, and thanks for making a difference!

Volunteers Needed During Lunch Time

WCHE student lunches begin at 10:45 and end at 1:10. We'd love to have volunteers come in to assist students with opening their drinks, opening condiment packages, passing out plastic-ware and napkins, etc. If you're looking for something fun to do any time between 10:45 and 1:10, please sign up here. Thanks!

Calling all Box Tops! Calling all Box Tops!

Please remember to save your Box Tops for Education and donate them to West Cypress Hills. The classroom with the most Box Tops each quarter wins a special prize.

And, be sure to remind Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, and Uncles to save theirs, too!

Box Tops for Education labels can be found on a number of grocery items. For more information about the products that support Box Tops for Education, click here. Box Tops can be placed on this form and turned in to your child's teacher. Thanks!

Kardivas Are Having A Party!

The Kardivas district-wide end of year party will be loads of fun for all. The party will be at the Lake Travis High School Cafeteria. To get there, take the Spillman Loop entrance into the high school campus. Follow it past the gym, tennis courts, and LTISD Administrative Offices. If you would like to walk your daughter in to the cafeteria, park in the back lot to the right (P8,) or, for drop off, just drop her off by the banner. The Kardivas will be entering the cafeteria from the outside door along the chain-link fence. DO NOT DROP OFF AT THE FRONT DOOR OF THE HIGH SCHOOL. Just look for the Kardivas banner and balloons! Have fun!
