Remember Who We are, and Why We Do What We Do!
Revisit Expectations and Goals
We are over half way through the school year and we have been given a grade of an A from the state. We can be happy with it and relax, or we can do exactly what we are expecting our students to do- set goals and exceed them! As you know, I am a growth mindset educator. My desire is that those of you that are doing great things in your classrooms, pushing forward in tech, expanding your PLCs/PLNs and growing personally will share what is working for you, and not be intimidated by any viral negativity that still raises its ugly head. My dream for our school is that we will all have the autonomy to push ourselves and our students to the next level of educational excellence. As tough as it might seem at times, I will never give up on our school, students, or us as a staff.
Use Our Data Wisely
Having individual conferences are a proven way to make a positive impact on a student's future instruction. How have we taken what they have shown on their formative assessments as well as their NWEA snapshots, and helped them set more specific learning goals for themselves.
Learning Goals
Having the students know what they are learning is great, but do they know why? If anyone asked them, "Why are you learning that?" Will they say it is on a test, or will they be able to give a way it will be applied in their lives? Our expectations are that the student learning goals are evident in our students daily conversation.
You have the opportunity to turn in documentation for Domains 2,3 and 4. This is important because it gives us as individuals more voice in our own evaluations. I will be working on finishing this first part of our evaluations by net Monday.
Positive Feedback
We need to make a concerted effort to increase the number of positive communications we have with students and parents. When we see them do what is right, praise them! When they make mistakes; coach them. Please follow the protocols that were put in place to help track our discipline referrals.
