The outline does not need to be sentences. I am looking for brief words or phrases that will be the bones of their research paper.
Reading: I've reconsidered when to begin the Edmodo requirement. With the Native American Project, the Weather Journal, and very soon, the Science Fair Project, it doesn't seem like a fair time to add something to your list of things to think about... yes, I said your...I know that you will be the person having to remember it for a bit until it becomes a part of their habit. We will begin Edmodo after the new year.
In Writing, the children are finishing the typing process of their Information books. As the children finish, I will allow them to do a bit of research for their Native American research project. It would be a good idea if they housed their research papers in the travel folder.
In Science, we are setting up the Weather chapter in the notebooks tomorrow and will begin instruction on Monday. The children will be completing a 2-week Weather Journal beginning Monday. This will be a quick daily assignment that will be completed at home. I will go over the packet with the children and give them the half-notebook that they will use on Monday.
In Math, I am working with a small group that need to master the standard algorithm while the rest of the class are working on various projects. The next step will be the long division small groups. :-)
