With only one more week of classes before spring break begins ... not to mention the conclusion of the 3rd quarter for grades, it's important for our student athletes to STAY FOCUSED and FINISH STRONG!!

Coincidently, we are also only a week away from completely opening up the spring sports competition season! So far, only the Brickie tracksters have been running the competitive show, but soon we'll also be shining bright on the diamonds, across the court, and hopefully down the middle of the fairways! This week, senior vaulter Cody Johnston was literally the only Hobart Brickie in action ... and HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

Fortunately we don't have to wait a week to read all about it ... it's time for BricksCenter!

Track & Field

While the rest of the Brickie tracksters had the weekend off, senior pole vaulter Cody Johnston was sprinting down the runway in Virginia Beach at the Adidas Track Nationals chasing a 2nd consecutive VICTORY on the National Stage! If you recall, last weekend, Cody was the Nike Indoor NATIONAL CHAMPION after clearing a height of 17'1". Even though the height was slightly different (16'11.50"), the result was the same - Cody is also now the Adidas Indoor NATIONAL CHAMPION!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Simply can't wait to see what this kid does when he gets outside!

Next weekend, he actually gets to vault in Indiana at the Hoosier State Relays Finals held at Indiana University. Cody will look to defend his 2022 title at Gladstein Fieldhouse.

GREAT JOB CODY & GOOD LUCK! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK WORK WORK!!

Asia, who has already committed to play basketball next year at Indiana State University, will join 12 other players from around the state to represent Indiana against the Kentucky All-Stars on June 9th in Owensboro, KY and on June 10th at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis!!

Asia, the leading scorer in Brickie history with 1,736 career points, is just the 2nd player in Hobart High School HISTORY chosen for this honor! Northern Illinois University Academic All-American and 2011 HHS graduate Amanda Corral also wore the red, white & blue for Indiana!!

Asia was also the Post Tribune PLAYER OF THE YEAR!

Football

Brickie senior Trey Gibson was recently selected to participate in the 57th Annual Murat Shrine North/South Football All-Star Classic! Trey will compete for the IFCA North team on June 14th @ Decatur Central High School outside Indianapolis!!

Only 46 student athletes from around the northern half of the state were chosen for this opportunity! Gibson, who totaled over 2,000 yards from scrimmage last fall and scored 29 touchdowns, will get to lace them up one more time as a high-schooler ... just as he has for the Bricks the last 2 years ... before heading off to Marian University for the next chapter.

CONGRATULATIONS TREY! You are continuing a LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNG legacy of Brickies who have played in this prestigious event! WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU!!
