What to do if Your Child is Sick
In these confusing times, it might be difficult to know what to do when your child is sick.
KPBSD has an easy to understand chart explaining what to do if your child is a close contact with somebody who has covid, tests positive for covid, or just has symptoms. Check it out!
Cooper Landing School Updates

The fishing trip is this Friday, September 10. If you have not yet turned in your paperwork, please do so. Please check your email for more information from Mr. Gossard.
Early Release
Wednesday, September 15 is an early release day. Students will be released at 1:45.
Volunteers/Criminal Background Checks
If you wish to participate in any field trips or volunteer activities, you must complete the online application which includes consenting to a criminal background check. This is an annual requirement. Navigate to this page to complete the application.
Masking
The district highly recommends that all students and staff wear a face covering while indoors. Any visitors to the school must wear a face mask.
Moose Pass School Things to Know
Due to a staff illness and no substitute availability, Moose Pass School is switching to remote learning for this week. Ms. Barron is working hard to contact all families and make sure that all students get what they need, so that no student has to miss out on instruction this week.
We have an ongoing problem with a sub shortage throughout the district. If you think you would like to be a sub or you know somebody who would like to sub in our school or anywhere in the district, apply today or share the link:

Parents: If you have not been on Power School to fill out your student's 'Back to School Forms'
Please be sure to do that ASAP. If you have never logged into Power School, you will need to create an account. Here is a link to the forms and instructions: https://www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us/students_parents.aspx?id=39221
We still do not have a Food Service Manager, so there is no meal service at this time.
Students should come to school with food for am snack time and lunch.
Also each student should have a water bottle, to avoid frequent trips to the fountain.

Hope School Updates
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are welcoming a new middle and high school teacher to our community this year. Tammy Highly, hailing from Shungnak, and originally from Missouri will be joining our team, replacing Ms. Earl.-
A few housekeeping notes regarding the beginning of the year:
- Please remember to send your children with wet weather gear, we are still going outside, rain or shine and want to keep your little ones dry and happy!
- We do not have a permanent secretary at this time. Phones and emails may not be answered in as timely a manner as you are used to, so please bear with us through this transition.
- Masks are not required by students or staff this year, though strongly encouraged by the district.
- District policy DOES, however, require that all parents, guests and visitors wear a mask at all times while in the building. Thank you for your compliance and help keeping our students safe.
Mrs. Christen and Mrs. Circe are putting together a Scholastic book order and kids should have received an order flyer. The book store can also be accessed online, as well. If parents are experiencing any glitches with the ordering process, please bring a check into the school and we will get your child's books ordered. All orders need to be in by September 30th.
We do still have a decent amount of dry goods from our Soldotna Food Bank delivery. Please feel free to come over and take what you need.
Stay warm and have a great September!
