Conferences!
Information aboutt signing up for conferences was emailed out last night, and a paper copy is going home in Friday Folders today. If you have already signed up online, I do NOT need a paper copy back. Also coming home today is information on student-led conferences. The students will be selecting work, setting goals, and writing you a letter to discuss at their conference this year. It is important that the student come with you to the conference, since they will be leading it by sharing their work. We will be organizing the needed materials during class time in the next two weeks. You can still sign up for conferences online by visiting http://vols.pt/SMh7fj or by sending a paper copy of desired times.
No school Monday, October 13th!
In Class...
We are transitioning out of plants and moving to the human body. Students will learn about the functions of our body systems, and how viruses and bacteria can affect us, to ultimately create a device that could help stop the spread of infectious disease. In math, students took the first module test last Friday, and we are moving in to whole number sense, and operations with these numbers. Please utilize the Educreations lessons for answers to the Exit Tickets each night. http://www.symbaloo.com/mix/math-enymodule2 is the website. In ELA, students are learning about summarizing a fiction text, and we will begin identifying the theme in literature, poetry and drama. Memoirs are due at the end of next week!
