School Science Fair
The science fair at Spring Canyon Middle School was a success! It showcased the ingenuity and dedication of our students. Students presented a wide array of innovative projects that tackled various scientific topics with creativity and depth of understanding. Each project was a testament to the students' curiosity and hard work.
To those moving on to further competitions, we wish you the best of luck. The Spring Canyon Middle School science fair not only celebrated academic excellence but also inspired a new generation of young scientists to continue exploring.

Course Selection for Next Year
It's hard to believe we are thinking about next year ... but we are! It is the time of year to plan course selection for the 2024-2025 school year.
Both grades will have paper forms for parents to sign, but course selection is ultimately done on Infinite Campus and will be done at school.
Course selection information will be given on Feb 9th in pod classes. Be watching for course selection forms to come home this day! We will be going to the pod classes on February 16th to complete course selection on Infinite Campus.
7th Grade:
Springville Jr will be coming to visit on Feb 15th. They will be sending home course selection forms. Students will complete their course selection during CCA/DLI class the following week, on February 22nd.
Yearbook
If you'd like to pre-order a yearbook you can do so under "My School Fees", or in the finance office with cash/check/cc. Pay by February 29th! Yearbooks are $18. You can also check in your My School Fees account if you have already paid for a yearbook if you forgot.
We will have a limited surplus on a first come first serve basis for $25 on the day we hand out yearbooks in May - order now to ensure you get a copy.
Nurses Corner
Did you know…the heart beats around 100,000 times in a day and pumps 1.5 gallons of blood per minute?
February is national heart month and taking care of your heart may look different than you might think. Here are a few self-care tips to maintain a healthy heart.
- A daily dose of physical activity every day (a 30-minute brisk walk).
- Cook meals at home that are low in sodium and unhealthy fats.
- Take your medications as prescribed and keep your medical appointments.
- Sleep 7-8 hours per night.
- Manage stress in healthy ways. Read a book, meditate, take a bath, or take a few minutes to find some quiet time.
When talking about different types of heart disease it can be confusing. Keep in mind that “Cardiovascular Disease” is a term that is used for all types of disease that include the heart or blood vessels. 1 in 3 deaths are from some type of cardiovascular disease.
The following are ways to protect your heart.
- Ask your doctor about your blood pressure, cholesterol, and A1C.
- Reduce the sodium and increase fruits, veggies and whole grains.
- Be physically active.
- Don’t smoke.
- Manage stress.
- Keep your diabetes under control.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
Prevention and recognizing the signs and symptoms of heart disease can make a difference in your quality of life. Learn and find more information at www.heart.org

Lost and Found

Two times a term we take unclaimed items and donate them to a local source. This is usually done at middle and end of each term.
