ELPAC Testing Window

The Summative ELPAC testing window will be open from February 1 through April 31, 2021.

ELPAC Testing Information

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ep/elpacparentresource.asp

For the 2021 spring administration of the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), students will be able to take their assigned tests remotely. Our priority is to keep our students and educators safe by following state, county, and local health and safety requirements associated with the current pandemic.

This letter provides information about what students testing remotely need. Students will take the test from the safety of their homes. The test administrator or examiner will connect with each child by computer. To make sure that each student receives the most accurate score, we are providing the following guidelines for student testing:

  1. You may assist your child with setting up the technology used to enter the test session.
  2. To keep the test fair for all students, we ask that you do not talk about the questions on the test or any materials for the test with anyone before, during, or after the test.
  3. No one may record the test, or use a camera or another device to take pictures of the test questions or of your child taking the test. This helps to keep the questions confidential.
  4. We need to know that the test is being completed by your child without any help. To verify compliance, a web camera and microphone will be used to observe your child while taking the test. The camera is only used to observe your child and the surroundings during the test and will not record the session

Please follow all instructions given by the test administrator or examiner to place the camera where your child and the child’s immediate surroundings can be observed.

If your child cannot use the computer’s camera, microphone, and speaker or headphone during remote testing, you may contact the principal, Marie Roberts, for another way to administer the test to your child—for example, in-person test administration—when it can be done safely following state, county, and local health and safety requirements.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the principal, Marie Roberts, for more information, mroberts@orchardsd.org.

Thank you for making sure your child is ready to test. With your help, we can ensure that your child, as well as all students in California, are provided with the best opportunity to succeed and show what they know.

Isolation and Quarantine Support Program-Financial and Rental Assistance

Santa Clara County COVID-19 Support Team provides resources to County residents who test positive for COVID-19 or are identified as contacts to a positive case to enable them to isolate or quarantine safely. This service is available to individuals who have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to COVID and need to isolate and quarantine due to exposure.

Please call 408-808-7770 - The referral hotline is available 7 days/week, 8 am – 5 pm.

There are three main components to the program:

  1. The first component consists of a motel with supportive services for cases and contacts who cannot safely isolate or quarantine at home or who do not have a home. At this hotel, the County offers limited case management services, three meals per day and laundry services. Medical and behavioral health staff perform wellness checks weekly and connect individuals to social services, medical and behavioral health services based on their needs. Transportation to and from the motel to initiate or conclude isolation or quarantine can be provided. Once the isolation or quarantine period is complete, the Program staff assist participants to return to their homes or transition to appropriate and available congregate and non-congregate shelter settings.
  2. The second component provides support services for persons who can isolate and quarantine at home, but who need some assistance. The supportive services are similar to what is provided at the motel. Most participating households need help buying groceries and cleaning supplies.
  3. The *third component of the Program is rental and utility bills specifically for individuals and families participating in this Program. Each household may be eligible for up to $5,000 in rental assistance or a flat payment of up to $2,500 in financial assistance. *Individuals must qualify based on income of 80% AMI (Area Median Income) or less.
