UPCOMING EVENTS
- Roger's Explorer Deadline is on February 7, 2020 after midnight. Any 8th Grade student interested in applying will need to see Mrs. Lewis. The program is a 3-day Leadership camp held at one of the seven college campuses across Kentucky. To apply go to www.centeryouthprograms.com to complete your applications and see Mrs. Lewis for your transcript. This is a great program to gain leadership skills, and knowledge of college life.
- BCMS Valentine's Dance will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 4:00-6:00. Tickets will go on sale on February 10, 2020 for $5.00.
- MSU Corps Build-A-Bed program is currently taking applications for students Pre-K through 12th grade who do not have beds to sleep on in their homes. The selected students will receive a brand new twin bed, mattress, a bedtime bag which includes a pillow, sheets, and blankets. Please understand that not all applicants will receive a bed. Applications have to be turned into the BCMS YSC by January 31st. The BCMS YSC will forward the application to MSU Corps Build-A-Program. If you have any questions contact the BCMS YSC at 674-2110.
SPORTS
- BCMS Basketball Wildcats will be in action at Simons Middle tonight. Good Luck Wildcats!
- Congratulations to the Bath County Cheer Cats on placing 1st place in the Tri-state Dance Competition on Saturday and in the Skills Competition.
- Volleyball practice will be held today 3:30-5:00. All first year players will be required to tryout all others will be told ahead of time if they need to attend or not. Team will be listed today outside the principal's office. Upcoming Parent meeting Thursday evening on January 30, at 6:00 pm. Please plan on attending if your child is selected. You must have a sports physical to participate.
- Practice has begun for Varsity Girls track and it is being held at the high school concession area by the gym.

SCHOOL NEWS
- We are so proud of our Academic Team who came home loaded down with medals for Written Test and Composition Competitions! The following students will go on to compete at the Governor's Cup Regionals on Saturday, February 1, here at BCMS. Here are the awards received: BCMS received the Sportsmanship Award. Izzy Hughes got 1st in Arts and Humanities, Maura Boggs place 1st in Compostition, Shade Stacy-
Bonot placed 2nd in Science and 2nd in Social Studies. Molli Bowling placed 3rd in English, Twyla Wilson placed 4th in Composition, Cameron Warner placed 4th in Social Studies and Jacob Hatfield placed 5th in Social Studies. - Good Luck to Maura Boggs and Twyla Wilson as they will be competing tonight for the composition competition tonight during Governor's Cup Regionals. This event will take place tonight at 6:00 pm in our library. Good Luck Girls!
- STLP is offering a technology Help desk for teachers, staff, and students who need help with technology issues. Teachers and staff please check your email for a form that you can fill out anytime you need tech help.
- Good Luck to those Beta Members competing at the convention Thursday and Friday.
- 2020 Yearbooks are on sale! Cost is $25.00. If you would like to purchase a yearbook see Mrs. Colwell.
- 4-H Applications can be picked up in the YSC
- Don't forget Drama Club is still needing performers for their Spring production. There are currently meeting every Monday and Friday till 5:00. Any questions see Mrs. Cami Stevens room 201.
- Congratulations to Maura Boggs for placing 5th with her drawing at State Beta Convention. She has placed top 5 two years in a row. Also, Congratulations to Gabie Cox for placing 1st with her sculpture.
