Ms. Harris' Weekly Update
January 30th-February 3rd
What's Happening This Week
- Ms. Harris' Science: We are going to review Lessons 1-3 on the sun and take a quiz over these three lessons on Tuesday. Wednesday-Friday, students will participate in a Science Court trial on seasons.
- Ms. Shipp's Social Studies: This week we will start learning about the US government. There will be a vocabulary quiz sometime next week.
- Mrs. Thurston's ELA/Math:
- Ms. Harris' GT ELA/Math: Ms. Thompson will be teaching customary measurement this week in math. Students will be expected to memorize customary length, weight, and capacity conversions, as well as apply that knowledge to real-life problems. The quiz on customary measurement will be next Wednesday. In ELA, students will begin a unit on mythology. We will be focusing on Greek mythology and analyze a few popular myths.
Barnes and Noble Day Saturday 2/4!
Come to the Barnes and Noble in Pineville from 11-2pm and support FMES! They'll be teachers reading and a portion of proceeds go directly to FMES.
Field Trip Forms and Money are due by WEDNESDAY!
Permission slips to our March 1st field trip to Matthews Playhouse are due on 2/1! We are going to see "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Please send in the $13 and all forms by Wednesday. You are welcome to pay online at the FMES website.
NO SCHOOL 2/17 and 2/20
There is no school for students Friday the 17th for a Teacher Workday and Monday the 20th for Presidents' Day.

- 2/22 3rd Quarter Ends (This year is FLYING by!!!)

It is full of games, videos, and online activities that cover our Astronomy standards. This and our techbook are wonderful resources for the students to use. Both are linked on my website as well.
