Central Lee - Coronavirus Update
March 20, 2020
Message from Dr. Crozier
Good Afternoon,
We are continuing to communicate with our community regarding updates and district decisions during the COVID-19 school closure.
School Events
All school events are canceled, postponed, or suspended through April 12. We have decided to cancel this year’s musical for the high school. It will not be made up.
Preschool registration is being postponed. We will communicate a new date and/or format in the days ahead.
Learning at Home
Just a reminder, we will be providing learning resources both online and offline for students. These activities are supplementary and not required. They will not be graded by classroom teachers. It is highly encouraged parents have students participate in these activities for their benefit. These resources will be available on March 25 at the latest.
High School AP & Concurrent Enrollment Courses - SCC Classes
SCC is still in session over the next three weeks. If you are enrolled in a concurrent enrollment class or an AP class, you will be expected to continue to fulfill requirements. We will be creating a plan to support you during this process. SCC is planning on returning to class (online) on March 25. High School students enrolled in these classes should be ready to go. For more information, please contact Nicole Herdrich (nherdrich@centrallee.org).
iPad Requests
Students in grades 1st-5th may request an iPad to use over the next three weeks. Parents will be expected to sign an acceptable use policy that also states if the iPad is damaged at home the family is responsible for repairs. iPads are not required to be checked out. If you do not have quality internet at home, we would discourage you from requesting an iPad. As mentioned above, learning resources will be available for families without quality internet.
We will begin fulfilling iPad requests next week. Please contact Kris Brewer (kbrewer@centrallee.org) for more information or if you have any questions.
Meal Services
We are ready to deliver meals for each family that has signed up. The current plan is to deliver the first meal on Sunday, March 22. Expect delivery between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Each bag will have food for breakfast and lunch for the following day. It is recommended you place bags in the refrigerator. Staff will knock on your door and place the bags on your front step similar to UPS or FedEx. If you are not receiving meals and would like to, please contact Amy Fogarty (afogarty@centrallee.org). Please give the students first and last names in the email. As of right now, this service is for families living in the Central Lee district boundaries.
If you are open enrolled into the district, you must use your resident district for meal access. Like in Central Lee, these meals are free but may require you to pick them up from a designated location. Information on area schools’ meal service is available on our COVID-19 website.
Pick Up Service
If you responded to our survey that you needed something from our buildings, thank you. We will work through this list on Monday. You can help us streamline this work and improve turn around time by filling out the form below for your child. This form will allow you to be specific about what you need from school. IF you need something confidential, please contact the building principal and they will work with you to retrieve the item(s). These forms will be left open until no more requests are coming in.
As a reminder, please submit parent questions here. You can review answered questions on the COVID-19 website.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andy Crozier
