We are so excited to be welcoming your children back to Whitman for the 23-24 school year! We have already been hard at work planning to make this year another year of joyful learning. Our students showed so much growth in 22-23 and we can’t wait to see how much they achieve this year! We have also been working on our year long calendar of events, with lots of great opportunities for families to be involved.

Here are some important beginning of year dates for you to know:

• Friday, August 18, 2:00 - 4:00 Kindergarten Play Date on the Whitman playground!

• Popsicles provided and we’ll put the sprinklers out for our incoming kindergarteners to enjoy as well!

• Saturday, August 19, 10:00 - 12:00: Community Care Day

• Come by the playground to help us get things looking great for the first day of school!

• Friday, August 25, 2:30 - 3:30 pm: Ice Cream Social!

• Come by the school to say hello to your teachers and staff, and to have some ice cream!

• Tuesday August 29: First day of School for grades 1-5!

• We can’t wait to see you on August 29 at 8:45 am! School hours are 8:45 - 3:00. School doors open at 8:30. Kindergarten students will have a different schedule during the first week of school. If you have a child in Kindergarten, please look for a separate letter about your child’s schedule.

• September 4: No School, Labor Day Holiday

• September 5: First Full Day of School for all Kindergarten Students

WE ARE STRIVING FOR 100% ATTENDANCE ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! We would love to see every single 1st-5th grade student on campus at 8:45 am on Tuesday, August 29th! Learning starts on Day 1…and so does re-connecting with old friends and making new friends! We can’t wait to see you!

Important Regulations for pre-K and Kinder riders this year:

Kindergarten and pre-K students are required to be met at the PM bus stop by a responsible person or accompanied off the vehicle by an older sibling or a neighboring older student. They must wear a Yellow Tag (affixed to their backpack) and be seated near the front of the vehicle. All other students on a regular bus are not required to be met.
