Newsletter 16th February 2021

Welcome to Week 3 of our term. We hope this newsletter finds you all well and healthy amidst the interesting start to the week. We keep all of our country in our thoughts and prayers as we journey along. As mentioned in all media, we are at Alert Level 2. We ask that you help us to keep our school/kura safe and well. Please use the Tracer App or sign in if you are on school grounds. Our children/tamariki are following the hygiene guidelines we have used previously. We know that together, with kindness and care we will get through this.

Thank you to our wonderful school community who joined together with our parish on Sunday for our Feast Day Mass. It was a very special time together.

WEEK 3 15th – 19th February (Green)

17th Ash Wednesday (Violet)

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent in preparation for Easter. It is also the start of the Caritas Lenten Programme. The theme for Lent 2021 is “A New Way Forward” – taken from Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’. This theme reminds us that God provides everything we need to overcome obstacles and push through the walls of fear and uncertainty throughout our life’s journey.

A New Way Forward

“In the heart of this world, the Lord of life, who loves us so much, is always present. He does not abandon us, he does not leave us alone, for he has united himself definitively to our earth, and his love constantly impels us to find new ways forward.”

Pope Francis, Laudato Si’, #245, 2013

A reminder that all Year 3 and 4 Netball notices need to be returned to Mrs O'Connor tomorrow. Blessings and thanks.
