March is Reading--"Celebrating the Joy of Reading"
- Every classroom door decorated with their favorite book, the class may choose or it could be the teacher's favorite book. Solicit parent support to help decorate the door together or identify students in the class that may take on the task or assist you with decorating your door. Let's have fun with the doors. Be Creative. This is for all classroom doors in the building. If you have already decorated your door with African American Book Titles there is no need to change. The goal for the decorated doors be it Black History Month or March is Reading is for EVERY DOOR to represent READING!!
- Beginning next week Cindy Carson will be taking pictures of teachers with their favorite book. She will then create a poster to hang outside your door or around the building.
- Plan a day or week where you have parents come in to be mystery readers to your class.
- Building-wide READ-IN/Pajama Day-
- Book Trivia at lunch
- Invite Central Office over to Read with your class.
These are just a few ideas.
