Tribute to Texas Edition
Harvey's devastation upon Texas reminds us just how much we need to appreciate what we have and to find solace in the strength and fortitude of others who braved the storm.
Bowling club on Wednesdays is an hour for parents to bond over mozzarella sticks while we watch the students enjoy an hour of bowling. Great fun.
As many of our local food pantries have sent their non-perishables to Texas, the shelves are bare in South Florida. The Key Club is having a food drive next week. Please bring in your non-perishables and we will deliver to We Care.
DECA club comes to Conservatory Prep. Our students will have opportunities to compete with other schools. Their first project
**No school on Monday in observance of Labor Day**
Google classroom is up and running. Both parents and student have access. Please let your teacher know if you are unable to view assignments and grades. Please note that the majority of assignments are done in class.

Science does not only take place in the classroom

Friday morning Entrepreneurship class is filled with inspiration, challenges and problem-solving. This week, the students took on the ban of plastic bags in several countries. What can be used instead which is cost effective? The students figured out that tons of used clothes fill up landfills each year. The students re-purposed t-shirts by turning them into bags and backpacks. Pretty clever!
Brett presents his summary of an article he is using in his AT Global Studies research, topic: war.
In English we have been reading and discussing The Great Gatsby. We are also
following the plot by watching the movie after we read each chapter. We also spent
some time researching the “Roaring Twenties.” We are now using Storyboard That and
the results of our research to create cartoon presentations about this interesting period
of time.
The students continued reading How to Read Literature Like a College Professor. This
week we tackled the topic of food in literature and wrote short, short stories centering
around a meal.
