Keeping it R.E.A.L! Respect + Effort + Attitude= Leadership

MAY 2016

From Our Principal...

Dear Families,

What a whirlwind this year has been! Our students have grown in so many ways, and I look forward to continuing to watch their growth as the years continue. You can be proud of your children for reaching for their goals, working hard to learn and grow, and for becoming supportive, problem solving, character driven young people. We are so blessed to work with these sweet personalities.

The PTA threw a BEAUTIFUL teacher appreciation week for us. We are so very thankful for each of you!! Thank you to our community for being such a great support in every way for our students, staff, and each other.

I hope you received our note about Volunteer Appreciation being held on Field Day. There will be snacks and beverages (and cool down, escape space) in the media center in honor of all you do for us throughout the year this Friday, May 13 throughout the day.

Finally, there will be one last newsletter sent out next week, with the teaching assignment changes, reminders for summer programs, and next year information.

Supply Lists 2016-17

Coming separately

The supply list newsletter will come separately once they are finalized. We are working to get the best prices from the company with which we are working. Thanks for your patience!

Afternoon Car Pick Up

You will notice a set of orange cones out in the lanes of traffic. This is to prevent anyone from passing after picking your child up. It is dangerous and an accident hazard to have passing cars. Please remain in the line until the line moves, then safely travel back out to the street. Thanks for your cooperation!

The Penny War fundraiser for the Vanderburgh Humane Society was a HUGE success. We were able to donate over $1,200! The grade level winner of the Penny Wars, receiving extra recess and popsicles was second grade. The response and contributions for this fundraiser were overwhelming, and really exemplified the young black cats generosity. Great Work Black Cats!
