23 Weeks of Kindergarten!

Week of February 1st - February 5th


I want to give ALL of our kindergarten parents and guardians a HUGE Thank You for ALL of your help for 100's Day! Thank You, thank you, thank you!!! It wouldn't have been a success without ALL of your donations and help. :) :) :)

This week's Homework

The homework packet is being sent home today and will be due next Monday. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Also, if you would like, please have your child write a sentence for the word of the week: "sacrifice." This is not mandatory. We would need the sentence by Wednesday.

This weeks concepts

Math - Name, recognize, count and write the numbers to 20. Compare groups to 20 and determine more and less. Counting, naming and identifying pennies and nickels.

Reading - sight words (and, he, she, have, can, to, at, I, we, a like, the, some, one, two, three, an, has, is, not, see, go, four, five, my, will, are, do, for, black, pretty, be, this, all, come, no, in, down, did, on, who, yellow) Making inferences, asking questions, summarizing, compare and contrasting, reading comprehension, and working on fluency.

Phonics Your child should know all of their letters and letter sounds. Phoneme blending, isolation and categorization.

Share your Vocation

If you are interested in sharing your vocation with our class, or if you know someone who would be interested, I would love to set up a time on Thursday, February 4th for you to come in and talk with the class. Please let me know if you are interested.

Parent Teacher Conferences

I will be out of town on Friday, February 12th - Conference Day. Unless I have contacted you, I don't feel like a conference would be necessary. However, I am more than happy to set up a conference for you on a different day if requested. Just send me an e-mail and we can arrange it. I am happy with all the progress we have made thus far!

Popcorn Helper

Thank you to Oliver's mom for volunteering to make popcorn for the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Open House on Sunday!

Po Panda Bear

Po is spending time with Garrett this week. We can't wait to hear about his adventures!

January 31st - February 6th - Catholic Schools Week

  • Monday - Wear a red shirt as part of "Community Embrace" / 8:45 a.m. assembly 1:30 p.m. 15 minute prayer service for homeless and food blessing
  • Tuesday - Wear a Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton logo shirt or sweatshirt. / 8:45 a.m. assembly / 1:30 p.m. Talent Show
  • Wednesday - Red, White and Blue Day / 8:45a.m. assembly / 1:00 p.m. All Schools' Mass
  • Thursday - Dress up and show your Sunday best attire - no jeans. / 8:45 a.m. assembly / 9:00 a.m. Spelling Bee grades 3-5. / Vocation Day - If you would like to share your vocation with our class, please let me know.
  • Friday - Dress down day / 2-3:15 School wide Team Scavenger Hunt / 8:45 a.m. assembly

We are in need of popcorn bags and coconut oil for the popcorn machine. If you would like to donate these to the class, please send me an e-mail and I will send you what kind we need. Thank You!

A lot of students are forgetting to bring a spoon or fork in their lunches, please make sure you are sending these if needed in your child's lunch.

It is still cold outside, please make sure your child has appropriate winter gear.

Please have your child memorize at least 1 phone number and their address.
