THE OUTSIDERS

Summary:
The Outsiders was written in 1967 by S.E. Hinton. Hinton was 15 when she started writing the novel and finished it when she was 18. The Outsiders is about two rival groups, or gangs, the Greasers and the Socs. These two groups are divided by their social status's. Ponyboy, the main character, is 14 years old and is apart of the Greasers. Ponyboy has two brothers, Darry and Sodapop. All three boys take care of each other because their parents died. Pony and his friend, Johnny, get into a fight with the Socs. Johnny, Pony's friend, stabs one of the Socs to prevent them from drowning Ponyboy. Because of this Ponyboy and Johnny leave town and stay in an old abandoned church. One day, the church catches on fire while a group of young students are taking a field trip to the church. Ponyboy and Johnny rescue the children from the burning church, but a piece of scrap crashes down on Johnny. He was rushed the a hospital, but eventually passes away. Then the Greasers and the Socs have one last fight and the Greasers won.
Would i recommend this book to other readers?
Yes, I would recommend this book to other readers because this is an amazing book with an amazing story. The more you read it's like you cant stop reading it! It is so interesting and deep that you have to finish the book.
