Bale Elementary Parent Newsletter September 2020
Dear Families,
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend. We certainly needed the extra day to relax and spend time with family after such a unique start to our school year. I am so honored to serve as your child's principal and thrilled with how patient you all have been through this unusual school year. We are definitely working together to persevere and champion learning for each of our Bobcats.
This is our first monthly newsletter of the 2020-2021 school year. Expect to receive a link to a new newsletter (at minimum) each month through your Parent Link account. I plan to also continue to send the occasional message through Parent Link also. The newsletter helps me share school-wide information and the flyers that go along with upcoming events and special announcements. In each newsletter, you will find live links embedded. As you "click" on the link, you will be able to explore additional information.
I hope you enjoy this method of sharing information. Happy reading!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Browning, Principal

Virtual Learners Update
As we move through this unusual school year, we are doing our best to meet the needs of all our students. This being said, in accordance to the state’s guidelines, virtual students at Bale will begin receiving more hours of instruction with their teacher and in Schoology beginning next Monday, September 14th. Our goal is to provide our virtual students the same (to the best of our ability) instruction that our in person students receive in a full school day. Teachers will be sending you a virtual schedule soon.
NWEA Map Testing Begins Next Week
As we know, due to the pandemic, many students have a learning loss. NWEA Map testing is an assessment that helps your child's teacher know what skills to teach. This first assessment is a "baseline" data gathering tool we use to better instruct your child. The NWEA Map assessment will be administered to in person students the week of September 14-18. Please make sure your child is here by 7:45 and has had a good night’s sleep before school. Also, please make sure that you do everything you can to ensure your child performs their best.
Virtual students will be given the same test during the week of September 21-25. We will be asking you to bring your student to the campus that week on an assigned day to test. More information will be coming soon giving you a schedule for that testing.
